Using pre-installed editor in Forum_XH plugin.

Post by Tata » Mon Dec 08, 2014 9:29 am

I wonder if there is a way to use standardly pre-installed editor (e.g. TinyMCE) in Forum_XH plugin. Less experienced visitors have a problem using the syntax of the built in editor. So using a limited version of TinyMCE would be much eaasier.

It's no shame to ask for an answer if all efforts failed.
But it's awful to ask without any effort to find the answer yourself.

Switching Forum_XH to optionally use HTML instead of BBCode is possible, but it requires quite some work, especially with regard to the installed WYSIWYG editors, because there has to be some server side validation which has to be carefully tuned to the editor (configuration). I'm afraid I do not have the time to implement this, but pull requests would be welcome.

Anyway, I don't consider the markup of Forum_XH to be too much of a problem. If a user don't understand it, they can still get a long way without using any markup at all -- see this forum, for instance.
