Tinymce4 CDN Update

Post by manu » Sun Feb 03, 2019 5:01 pm

On February 4, 2019, at 2 pm Pacific Standard Time (GMT-8), TinyMCE 5 will be deployed to the cloud stable channel. This means that if you are running TinyMCE from the stable channel it will automatically be upgraded from version 4 to version 5.
What if I want to stay on version 4? You can manually specify the version of TinyMCE in the tinymce4 config:
CDN Alt Src: ="https://cloud.tinymce.com/4/tinymce.min.js[?apiKey=your_API_key]"

CDN Alt Src: ="https://cloud.tinymce.com/4/tinymce.min.js[?apiKey=your_API_key]"

What impact is expectable by those running CMSimple-XH webpages with pre-installed TMC4? Will these webpages run without any action?

It's no shame to ask for an answer if all efforts failed.
But it's awful to ask without any effort to find the answer yourself.

To my knowledge, such Websites are unaffected.

This is correct. The standard edition with locally preinstalled tinymce 4.8.3 is not affected. Only the v4 versions with content network delivery CDN over the "stable" channel are affected.

Eventhohugh I also have some comments to the structure of TMC5 - it is but the question of time to become accustomed - is there a chance to have new TMC5 also preinstalled in CMSimple_XH? Probably not, though...

It's a bit early for having TinyMCE 5 in a stable CMSimple_XH, IMHO, but you can get the latest version of the TinyMCE 5 for CMSimple_XH plugin from https://github.com/manu37/tinymce5.

Nein, ich brauche TMCE5 nicht. Soweit bin ich mit 4 absolut zufrieden.
