Hi Termin,
that's just a relict from old CMSimple times, for backward compatibility. It's not necessary anymore, since january 2010.
Maybe the function "legal_notice" is included in some old templates, that's why it should work furthermore. Otherwise the template would quit.

shouldn't the legal notices be updated to the current state? The AGPL is excessivly mentioned, but AFAIK it doesn't apply to CMSimple_XH. And in my CMSimple_XH 1.4 it says
