CMSimple_XH: READMEs

Post by cmb » Fri Dec 07, 2012 2:23 am

Hello Community,

since CMSimple_XH 1.5.4 the base distribution contains README files in different languages. IMO it's a good idea to have as many such READMEs as possible. So I want to encourage you to add missing READMEs in your language. Please feel free to add any language specific information you consider relevant to your README.

You can post a download link to the translation in this thread, or send the files to one of the developers who have write access to the SourceForge code repository (if in doubt, you can send the translations to my mail account: cmbecker69(at)gmx(dot)de).

Regarding the current Slovak, Czech and Russian READMEs (thanks to Tata, oldnema and Old for contributing) there should be an update.

The current README.txt can be found in the following post by svasti (in addtion to the changes he explicitely listed, there are changes made in the INSTALLATION section).

Please ... change the text a bit.

Using many "!!!" doesn't make statements more important.
Just one "!" will do.

Also there are many servers where no writing permissions have to be set.
So better write "on some servers writing permissions..."

Code: Select all

$CMSIMPLE_XH_VERSION$
released $CMSIMPLE_XH_DATE$
===============================================

PASSWORD for this installation:

           test

Please change this password immediately !

===============================================

INSTALLATION

Unzip the download and upload all files of the
folder cmsimplexh/ to your webserver.

On some servers you have to set writing
permissions for some files, see
http://www.cmsimple-xh.org/wiki/doku.php/installation

Detailed UPDATE instructions are avaiable in the
CMSimple forum
http://www.cmsimpleforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=4868.

#########################################

Please DO NOT change the password directly in
config.php by using a text editor, because the
config.php only contains the encrypted password.
Change the default password right away after
login ONLINE !!!
(Login with default password "test")

This is the easiest and best working way.

For editing CMSimple_XH files it is essential
to USE ONLY editors, capable of detecting,
opening and saving files as "utf-8 without BOM"
(Byte Order Mark), like notepad++.

If this condition is not fulfilled, you will
damage your CMSimple installation.

If you have forgotten your password, you can
enter the encrypted password "test", i.e.:

\$P\$BHYRVbjeM5YAvnwX2AkXnyqjLhQAod1

via ftp into config.php and login using "test".

CMSimple_XH is a fast, small, easy-to-use and
easy-to-install modular Content Management
System (CMS), which doesn't need a database.

It is free Open Source Software under the
GPL3 Licence.

CMSimple_XH stores the content of the different
pages in one single html-file (content.htm).

In default setting headings H1-H3 are used
to split the content.htm into single pages
and to generate the navigation menu, while
headings H4-H6 remain for normal semantic
structuring within pages.

The suggestions are reasonable improvements IMO.

I had some spare time and decided to translate the README file in my language... now how can I attach it to a post??

I cannot see any attachment option.

Unfortunately it is not possible to post any attachments. In this case you can simple post the README directly (you can mark it up as [ code] for easier copying); we'll gladly integrate it to the next release.
