Hello Community,
the publishing status (aka. #cmsimple remove#) and the visibility (aka. #cmsimple hide#) of pages do not affect the subpages. I wonder if that is sensible. Isn't it usually desired to unpublish resp. hide all subpages as well?
Any thoughts?

Re: Publishing and Visibility of Subpages
Hiding a main page and not the subpages leads to funny results, automatic hiding of the subpages as well seems to be quite logical. However such a change might provoke a big howl from some users.

Indeed. We should at least postpone that change to 1.7, when there'll be a beta phase.svasti wrote:However such a change might provoke a big howl from some users.
On the other hand, that seems to be quite similar to the possibility to have "irregular page structures", e.g.
Code: Select all

Welcome

About us

Re: Publishing and Visibility of Subpages
After further consideration, I think it's mandatory to do so, particularly with regard to unpublishing. Consider what happens when a page which has sub pages is unpublished: in view mode the page's children may not show up in the menu, so the admin may mistakenly think that the subpages are unpublished as well – however, they are not!cmb wrote:Isn't it usually desired to unpublish resp. hide all subpages as well?
