Quiz plugin

Post by Korvell » Tue Oct 30, 2012 9:58 pm

I have at times had requests from other CMSimple site owners and has also felt the need myself for a way to create or integrate a simple quiz system on our cmsimple websites preferably by means of a plugin for easy setup/maintenance. I haven't found any information of quiz plugins for cmsimple except for a request on cmsimplewiki.com so figured I would make a request here.

Ideas: Multiple Choice, timed, random, "fill out the blanks", matching, true/false etc. - using images and videos as well... (there goes the "simple" ;) )

Sincerely,
Korvell

Hi Korvell,

IMO a quiz plugin is really missing [1]. More than a year ago I had one in mind, but then came so many other things... And currently I don't want to start a new plugin (at least not one, that might be quite complex) -- I have already released too many unfinished plugins. Sorry.

[1] There exists something like a quiz plugin (http://www.cme-software.de/projekt/?Demo_Veranstaltung); but that probably can't be published due to license restrictions.

If you have a MySQL, the (old) tool http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpesp/ maybe a solution, if you call it in an iFrame.
But if you're not so familiar with "manual" installations and HTML/php the use of this would be no good idea.

The tool throws many warnings about deprecated php-code, but it's easy to use and has many(all) options for public and privat quizzes, surveys and so on and is more handsome as the monsters like limesurvey (needs a database too).

But: no one-click-install and you need a (not cmsimple-like) database.

Good afternoon, friends!

The website of the children's scout organization is being made by CMSimple_XH.
There is a need to create a quiz plugin that could ask a series of consecutive questions with illustrations from a text file, the answer to which would be choosing a radio button with a signature, or entering a value.

All answers must be recorded in the form of a mail message and sent to the specified mail of the examiner.

I understand that this is a lot of work. How much would it cost to create such a plugin for our CMSimple_XH?

P.S. I can imagine creating question forms directly using standard CMSimple_XH tools with a link, but I don't understand how to save the answers and bring them to the examiner?

Hello,

a "good solution" as CMSimple_XH plugin is also not known to me.

With a little manual work, this can be rudimentary with the plugin "Advancedform_XH" (with the configuration "save data when sending / submitting the form") and with another script display the data stored on the server in the browser.

For a similar project (quiz about first aid and DRK) I decided to use https://www.testfragen-script.de/ about 2 years ago. (PHP script, save questions + answers with TXT or MySQL, embed in website with iFrame or include, show correct and wrong answers and send result as mail, small one-time license fee)
