Maybe a short sentence in german?
"Support" heisst "Unterstützung". Wenn wir php5.3 voraussetzen, wäre das evtl. ein Grund für diesen oder jenen, sich für CMSimple 3.3 oder CMSimple LE zu entscheiden.

Insofern wäre das eine Unterstützung (Support) für diese CMS.

Es ist also meiner Meinung nach einfach ein wenig zu früh.

Yes, but if we switch to another Editor - there should be a filebrowser in the package.

I fear the FCKeditor was the last within a free filebrowser. The Editors developers also wants to make some money, and I can understand it.
You can port the old one to CKeditor. It's possible, and somy guys did that already, but :? ...

But I think, a filebrowser, usable in many Editors, in CMSimple_XH and under php4.3 - that were the best solution for the moment.

Could you make a minimal version, running on php4.3 as freeware for CMSimple_XH, and a full featured version under reseller license, running under php5?

Wishful thinking... ;)

IMO no one will start such a project for modern editors with old-styled programming...

Hello Holger, hello Gert,

Looking on the core, it can be seen from another point!
I indeed was referring to the idea to increase the core's requirements. What hi_kcfinder plugin needs is absolutely okay for a plugin IMO.
Holger wrote: The real problem is the missing filebrowser in the online-editors
Yes, but I like your solution, so the user doesn't have to different file admins.

That will be difficult IMO cause kcfinder needs PHP5 and so must be modified. So at least the modified version of kcfinder must be distributed as well separatly (LPGP :() And I guess it could be hard work.
cmb wrote: distribute a simpler filemanager with the core, and leave hi_kcfinder as a plugin for a user who can fulfill it's requirements and wants more convenience.
+ 1 ;)
Holger wrote: and after that, Christophs PageManager
This is no possibility as Pagemanager will not be able to keep irregular page structures. :( But I think it's fine to keep it as a plugin.

Hello Holger, Martin, Gert,

Martin wrote: And it's the end of my own little file browser project.
AFAIK Martin's solution should work with PHP > 4.3. And I wouldn't call him no one ;)
cmb wrote: I don't know how far this project has grown (i.e. how much work it'll be to finish it), but that could be the base for a conservative solution
I still don't know--will anybody consider to enlighten me, please?
Gert wrote: That's why I have made the MultiMedia_XH Plugin with FlowPlayer. Now it's a plugin solution.
 I'll have a look at it ASAP.

I would not call it "old-styled programming" if anyone not uses the newest php tags.

I would call it "conservative", and it's a common way to make a "CMS for everybody" ;)

Low System Requirements can be a goodness and is one of the goals of CMSimple_XH.

Hey guys, I meant to start a new project like KCFinder from scratch.

AFAIK I've seen drafts of Martins Filebrowser minimum 1 year ago. So it's not started from scratch ;) .

About conversation of KCFinder to PHP4:
I'm not aware how much work it is. But you must do it with every important update.

So coming back to my first post in this thread:
if Martin want' s to keep on developing his solution, he should do that for the core-distribution and at least one editor.
If I'm right, I must look in my old folders, his browser could handle TinyMCE and FCK or CKeditor.

So wait about his purposes.

Holger

BTW: what about TinyMCE from Leen? Are there not parts of Martins code included?

Yes, but as far as I know it's just some code for internal links.

Seems to be no systems for everybody:
Joomla 1.6: PHP 5.2+
CMS made simple: PHP 5.2.x
GetSimple: PHP 5.2+

;)

But for me it's ok to stick on 4.3 with the core.
But I'll not rely on it with plugins.
