It seems to me that is always hard to accomplish, if different software is in use. I'm quite certain that a lot of manpower has been invested to make http://www.php.net/ and https://wiki.php.net/ appear to be similar (IOW, to establish a corporate identity), but at least regarding the details both sites are actually quite different with regard to the look and feel. And then there is http://qa.php.net/ and https://edit.php.net/ – rather different, again. It appears to boil down to the question of how much manpower is available for this task.

With regard to CMSimple_XH: the Wiki was quite inline with cmsimple-xh.org a few years ago, but while cmsimple-xh.org modernized over time, the Wiki did not. Respective contributions would be necessary, which appear to demand a public repository (facilitating pull requests), but that is costly per se (we certainly don't want to publish all files, e.g. files containing passwords).

I would still like to see the colour of the forum, matching the website, adjusted a little bit.
and the logo would be exchanged for one of XH in the upper right corner.
But I can't estimate the effort, because I have never worked with phpBB before.

Building and manipulating a theme is not that easy (at least for me). But there are tools to change the colors of the default theme. The problem is, that you have to do this work on every update .

Will the layout be overwritten every time?
Is it possible to save the changes with the tool so that you can retrieve them again and again?

Ich denke, das hülfe manchen Leuten, den Überblick über neue Posts zu haben.

Ich wollte PHPBB am Localhost installieren, um mit theme bisschen spielen zu beginnen, aber irgendwie kann ich es am iMAC nicht erfolgreich durchführen.

Well, it seems the tool is not up-to-date. The latest phpBB Version which is mentioned there is is 3.0.14, but phpBB 3.2.1 has already been released a while ago. On the other hand, it might be sufficent to search&replace a handful of CSS color values in the stylesheet(s).

Hmm, maybe possible. And it seems that all colors are defined in a single file.
