simplerss - not showing the feeds - help needed

Post by suviste » Sun Mar 08, 2009 11:40 pm

Hello, there is not much information to find about simplerss on the net, but maybe there is someone who has successfully used it. I' ve done everything as described in the help file and can change the source array, etc. But the box supposed to display rss feeds content remains empty although i've written necessary code also to the beginning of the page. The help file is quite useless and stating obvious, but the feeds do not show up on my page. Please - anyone - who knows how it works, i' de apriciate any help.

Just to visualize the problem - my result looks similar to the one on that page http://www.cycronic.de/dev/cmsimple/?simplerss:RSS_EYCE The difference is that when to click on the rss feed button - here it shows that the page doesn't exist - but in my case it goes to the rss feed page. So it has some connection with the feed, but just doesn't show the news where it is supposed to. Which is really annoying cause i just cant find the problem. Looks like everything should be right, i've changed the values back and forth, etc. - no change. Am i missing something crucial? It is supposed to simple, or not?

Use php script and save test.php

Code: Select all

<?php
function parser($url, $pocet, $kodovani){
$vyber = file_get_contents($url);
if(!$vyber){
echo "Funkce file_get_contents není povolená.";
}
preg_match_all("'<description>(.*?)</description>'si", $vyber, $title);
preg_match_all("'<link>(.*?)</link>'si", $vyber, $link);
for($i = 1; $i <= $pocet; $i++)
{
$text = substr($title[1][$i], 0, 106);
$tecky = "...";
echo "<a target='_blank' href=\"".$link[1][$i]."\">".$text."".$tecky."</a><br><hr>";
}
}
echo parser("http://www.site_rss",3,"ISO-8859-2");
?>
Include in news box test.php
Nobody knows how much time he has left ...
