Hi everybody,

Quoteoftheday has gotten an update, now it's Quoteoftheday_XH 0.7
This was my first plugin when I started out with CMSimple3.2. Tata was so nice and translate the help file into Slovak some years ago. As I changed nearly everything, the old help files are obsolete and I wrote a new one. However I hope the plugin is much easier to use now.

Quoteoftheday creates a div in which every day a different quote from a list of quotes appears. The quote list is a plain text file, dividers between quotes and triggers for css-classes can be chosen freely.

so sorry,
I renamed version 0.8 beta simply to 0.8, as no errors have been reported, but forgot to change the file in the downloads folder.

Anyhow I am glad somebody at least is interested in the plugin. The download should be working again now.

Version 0.9 has arrived
The new trick? Quotes can change daily, weekly or monthly. This was requested by Michael (mhz).

Was has changed? An increadable lot... see the help file:

New in version 1.0:

• Links as [[URL|Link text]]
• Images: The alt value is generated automatically (=plain file name without extension), als long as no alt value is entered as attribute. Attributes can contain image size or css entries, e.g. {{myimage.jpg|width="500"}} or {{myimage.jpg|style="width:500px"}}. Via space before or after the image name the image is floated left {{image }} or right {{ image}} or centered {{ image }}.
• Sound files: Supported are mp3, mp4, ogg, oga. They are entered like Images. For different browsers two file types can be provided. The secondary filetype is to be entered after a comma, e.g. {{soundfile.mp3,ogg}}. The attributes "autoplay" und "loop" are supported, e.g. {{soundfile.mp3|autoplay loop}}, as well as css entries, e.g. {{soundfile.mp3|style="background:red"}}. The player can be placed centered or right aligned via markup code. Floating as in images not supported. No Flash provided, so no Internet Explorer 8 support.
• Formatting: Ordered/unordered lists, indented, centered, right aligned text via markup codes "# ", "* ", " ", "%", "%%" at the start of a line.
• Filebrowser: The Quoteoftheday zip file contains also a file into be inserted in the filebrowser folder in plugins/filebrowser/editorhooks/quoteoftheday/ to manage the filename transfer via the filebrowser.
• Single quote view: The webmaster can now choose to view only a single quote, together with preview, reordering and deleting possibility, as well as the total view of all quotes of a quote file.
• Bugfix (0.8 + 0.9 would revert to the standard quote file after preview. Now fixed.)

Habe die neue Version mal kurz angetestet.
Aufgefallen ist mir, gehe ich von den Einstellungen zur Gesamtvorschau und dann wieder auf Einstellungen, funktioniert der Seiten-Wechsel nur beim ersten Mal.
Wechsle ich nochmals von den Einstellungen zur Gesamtvorschau und klicke auf Einstellungen, bleibt die Seite bei Gesamtvorchau. Erst wenn man z.B. Stylesheet anklickt und danach Einstellungen, kommt man wieder zurück.

Getestet lokal unter Xampp mit Chrome

Habe es in Chrome unter XAMPP geladen, kann aber, was du beschreibst, nicht wiederholen.

Bei der Entwicklung habe ich auch schon ständig zwischen Gesamtvorschau und Einstellungen hin und her geschaltet, und es hat eigentlich immer funktioniert.

Aufgefallen ist mir, gehe ich von den Einstellungen zur Gesamtvorschau und dann wieder auf Einstellungen, funktioniert der Seiten-Wechsel nur beim ersten Mal.

Hmmm, der Seitenwechsel wird über Javascript gesteuert. Ein Cookie hält fest, welche Seite aktiv war, damit er nach der Gesamtvorschau wieder dieselbe Seite öffnet.
Alle Seiten sind immer geladen, aber stecken jeweils in einem div der Klasse quotehide mit display:none, sind also versteckt. Wenn auf einen Seitenbutton geklickt wird, wird dem entsprechenden div die Klasse quoteshow mit display:block zugewiesen und die Seite wird sichtbar.

Wenn das nicht funktioniert, müsste irgendwas dem Javascript in die Quere kommen. ...

habe es nochmal mit einem frisch installierten CMSimple_XH 1.6.6 getestet, keine Probleme!
Lag wohl an meiner Test-Installation mit CMSimple_XH 1.6.4.
