Re: Pagemanager_XH
Hello community,
I've just released Pagemanager_XH 1rc2. It's available from my website.
The current version has to be considered Beta software! Use with caution! Always make a backup as explained in the manual. If you don't know how to make a backup and restore it, do not yet use Pagemanager_XH!
Thanks to all who tested Pagemanager_XH so far, for their valuable feedback, which helped me to improve Pagemanager_XH to the current state.
Any further feedback is welcome.
Christoph

Hello community,
I've just released Pagemanager_XH 1rc4. It's available from my website.

With this release I've change the configuration option values YES/NO to true/false, as it was decided, that plugins distributed with CMSimple_XH should comply to the handling of boolean configuration options in the core. So, if you update to this release and want to keep your old config.php, you should change YES to true and NO to false.
Thanks to all who tested Pagemanager_XH so far, for their valuable feedback, which helped me to improve Pagemanager_XH to the current state.

Re: Pagemanager_XH
Hello community,
I've just released Pagemanager_XH 1. It's available from my website.
Pagemanager_XH simplifies the administration of pages of a CMSimple_XH installation. This plugin is comparable to the Menumanager plugin with regard to functionality, but by using a treeview it allows for better handling of websites with many pages. With Pagemanager_XH it is also possible to rearrange whole submenus.
Thanks to all who tested Pagemanager_XH, and for their valuable feedback, which helped me to improve Pagemanager_XH to the stable release state.
Any further feedback is welcome.

From the changelog:
cmb added plugin icon
cmb extended copyright to 2012
cmb fixed minor bug: save button in toolbar was not hidden, if irregular sitestructure was found
cmb inhibited renaming of page, if its heading is only partially formatted
cmb fixed minor bug in jstree: D&D inside a node didn't work
cmb made some minor cosmetic changes
cmb added Russian translation (contributed by Termin)
cmb updated manual accordingly
And of course, any further feedback is welcome.

How about adding an option(right click/double click) to go straight to any page on the tree to edit the content?

Re: Pagemanager_XH
Hi B,
But I won't do this for version 1, as this version is considered (somewhat ) stable. While I was fixing the minor bugs in Pagemanager_XH, I've noticed, that a large amount of the code is quite ragged. So I already thought of rewriting these parts, what I'll probably do as version 1.1. Besides the code rewrite I'm planning to get rid of some knick-knack (as the jQuery dialogs, which do look nice, but cause some slight overhead, and increase the code complexity), and I'll have a look at the performance issues (Pagemanager is so slow!). And there's room for some minor new features, as the "edit page" functionality.
As I consider several other projects more urgent, unfortunately Pagemanager_XH 1.1 will have to wait. Probably at least several weeks -- sorry.
Christoph
IMO not strictly necessary, but OTOH: why not! Double click is no option, as this is meant as an alternative way to expand the branch. So it has to go to the context menu and additionally to the toolbar, for those browsers, where the context menu is disabled.bca wrote:How about adding an option(right click/double click) to go straight to any page on the tree to edit the content?

Re: Pagemanager_XH
Hi Christoph
It would help in the situation where you have a horizontal menu and quite a few hidden pages.
I am working on a site which has horizontal navigation and about 6 hidden newsboxes (btw why do they call them newsboxes? why not textboxes?)
My site is ok when in view mode but when in edit mode the newsboxes overflow from the navigation into the edit area. If i restict the height of the nav bar and overflow:hidden it is fine but i then cannot edit the newsboxes because i cant see them
It is not that important but if i could edit them from pagemanager that would help.

Re: Pagemanager_XH
Hi B,
Is this an option for you?
Christoph
I guess the name was introduced long ago (perhaps with the first versions of CMSimple), when the boxes were primarily intended to display some news. So the function to display those was called newsbox().bca wrote:btw why do they call them newsboxes? why not textboxes?
You want to navigate to the newsboxes from pagemanager? (not directly editing the pages there) For now (and it will probably be faster anyway) you could use the sitemap. If you don't want to show it on the publicly visible page, you can do so by adding to your template:bca wrote:It is not that important but if i could edit them from pagemanager that would help.
Code: Select all
<?php if ($adm) {?><?php echo sitemaplink()?><?php }?>

Perhaps because you can show not only text in a newsbox?bca wrote:why not textboxes?

Re: Pagemanager_XH
Thanks Christoph. Lateral thinking
That works OK for now.
Maybe the sitemap should be in the backend menu somewhere
