Help me to perform an intuitive Redirect

Postby kweku » Wed Jun 20, 2012 3:17 pm

hi, this might seem like a simple problem but i cant seem to find a suitable solution.

with my current development site i have an intro page which is hidden but when you go to http://prestige.im-clients.info -
you will see i have added a redirect to the intro page ( http://prestige.im-clients.info/?intro ) which although you can see it, you can see the menu item for it, this is all fine for me...

the problem is that the first page in the menu is GROUP - ( which i have discovered cmsimple cannot hide the first page in a menu? )
the only way i can redirect to my intro page is use my index page ( in this case 'GROUP' )

but now that means i cant click on GROUP and see the content for that page...because it redirects...

does anyone see where im coming from?

the old alternative method i used in the past was to have cmsimple in a sub-folder, in the root i would add a redirect to index.html which would then go to any url i gave. Now that i have removed the sub-folder and put everything in the root - there is only one index file, the cmsimple index.php! which i cant add a redirect to...

HELP please :(

Hi kweku,

This works well in my test environment (CMSimple_XH 1.5.3) either by using #CMSimple hide# or by using the page tab to hide the page from the menu -- you have to logout and call the domain to see the page (it doesn't work in admin mode). So just move the intro page before the group page, and you don't need any redirects.
