Wouldn't do it, rather keep it simple.

ACK.

Did you read my former post?

Oh, somehow I overlooked that one.

Yes, good, so that's clear.

Yes, indeed. It seems to me this functionality is quite something, and as we will not have a beta/RC phase for XH 1.6.3, we might bring in some feature that is not thoroughly thought out, when we vote before we know what we vote about, exactly. I do not want to stop the undo feature, because I think it's very useful and long overdue, but I'm somewhat reluctant to vote "now" for something so vague and complex as it currently is.

You're right, it needs a test phase and cannot be implemented right away into 1.6.3. So I have changed my vote to "later".

Hmm, first I had not such a complex solution in mind.
But I like it.

So I've voted for "later" because I think it's better to have a POC for testing purposes.

On further consideration, I'm not sure if we shouldn't go for diffs. There's no need for Unified Diff format and fault resilience, and that might make the implementation easier. Furthermore lightweight diffs might be stored in the session (what might be more reasonable than storing in the content folder) without raising performance issues. Just some quick thoughts.
